Commissioned by Radio Four's Women's Hour as part of their occasional reports on the role women played in the history of towns, this walk looks at women who managed to make their mark in a world dominated by men. The women include Lady Betty Craven, eighteenth century travel writer, and playwright, Lucia Foster Welch an early suffragette and the first female mayor of Southampton, and Sarah Siddons the greatest tragic actress of her age.
Walks take one and a half hours although all walks can be tailored to the needs of particular groups.
