Medieval Southampton

Southampton was one of the most important towns in medieval England, an important port for the export of wool and import of luxury goods that arrived in the many Italian ships that bought trade from all over the known world. The richness of the town's archaeology illustrates what a thriving port it was, stone vaults and merchant tenements defended by walls and gates, warehouses were Southampton's cathedrals.

Walks take one and a half hours although all walks can be tailored to the needs of particular groups.
